We’re experiencing our second heavy snowfall today here in London. The whole city has basically shut down – the university is closed, shops are closed, and public transportation is only running for half of the day.
This afternoon I put on my Hunter boots and fleece liners (amazing!), wore layers of clothing, sported my furry chapeau and I braved the winter weather. Here is what (a mostly white) downtown London looks like today:
p.s. For those of you who are curious – yes, I absolutely adore white. But that doesn’t necessarily mean I love the snow. It’s great to look at but it’s really not for me.

Hahah- I love your closing note 🙂
It’s really beautiful- London looks great under a pristine white blanket. I’m happy to see that you enjoyed your day, too! We had a light dusting of snow here in Toronto- not like in London, but enough to make me think of my love of white.

Glad you enjoyed it! The snow here is crazy. The roads are horrible. The park is absolutely gorgeous at the moment. I don’t think many people have walked through it today. It’s perfect!

Nice collection of shots. Still waiting for some snow (though I’m okay with out it too!) in these parts.
Thanks. 🙂 Where are you located? And are you sure you really want snow?

Thank you for allowing me to be in London today…just for a moment. I can just imagine how quiet it must be there with all of that lovely snow. Stay warm!
It’s a dry, cloudy, winter day here in Portland, Oregon.
Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed a bit of London tour this afternoon. Downtown is quite empty at the moment. All the offices and shops have closed. I only saw a handful of cars on my walk today.

The park and cathedral look so beautiful with all the snow. My favourite is when it’s snowing and it seems like there’s no one around and everything is just so quiet under a blanket of white. Stay warm, Jordana!
It’s so quiet here! There are no cars (and barely any people) downtown! And the park really is beautiful at the moment. Looks like tomorrow is going to be day 3 of “snow day season”.

While the snow does look beautiful…it’s not really for me either! Good for you for getting outside, the pics are beautiful. Enjoy a nice cozy day in!
Thanks Anita. Day 2 of staying (mostly) indoors has been good. I’m catching up on my “being lazy” time. It’s been a while since I’ve watched tv! Then again, thanks to the internet, I still have much to do and plenty of emails to deal with.

incredible pictures!!! soo serene
Thanks for you compliment. And yes – it is quite calm here. The roads are basically empty. The park is mainly untouched.

What lovely shots. Greetings to London in the snow from the Midlands in the snow and ice. I like the Park shots. Gorgeous.
Ah. Snow buddies. So far no ice here. So how do you deal with such snowy weather?

this is going to be ottawa in a couple of weeks! although, i do miss london’s milder winters, it never got to -40 down there! beautiful photos!
Today is day 3 of closures – the city has basically shut down. The roads look much better this morning but I think the shops and cafes will still be closed. Hope it clears up a bit today as I really can’t handle this much snow for much longer! 🙂 Don’t know how people in cities like Ottawa & Montreal do it!

p.s. Surprisingly – it hasn’t been overly cold. On my walk yesterday I was expecting bitter wind & cold but really, it was just a normal kind of cold. But then again, I was wearing 4 layers, a down-filled coat, Hunter boots with fleece liners, a fur hat & warm gloves.
Jordana fabulous snowy images! I just love your site!
