Movies: Dior and I

I watched Dior and I the other night – a documentary about the House of Dior and Raf Simon’s journey of his first couture collection. The movie gives us the backstage pass to the atelier, and I loved it. Those ladies and men who do all the beautiful hand stitching is incredibly impressive, and, of course, it was interesting to see Raf Simon’s approach to fashion design. On top of this, the movie is in French, and so I got to enjoy the language for a couple of hours.

I recently came across online market DLK, and I would love just about every item in my own home (even though the shop is definitely more targeted to items for kids and families). The Friday Five: Black and White Christmas Trees

Earlier this week, a colleague asked me if I had a white Christmas tree. Truth revealed – while I do have quite a few white ornaments, I mostly embrace a traditional green and red colour scheme at Christmas. I keep my decorations tame, but I do not shy away from these classic colours. I can’t yet bring myself to go all-white because I really like having a real tree in the house for the month of December. Surprised?
