I really like the delicateness of Toronto’s Bluboho‘s jewellery.
What are your thoughts about freestanding bathtubs? Do you have a favourite brand or design? What criteria do you have for the perfect bathtub?
I can count on one hand the number of baths I’ve taken since I moved into my house nearly eight years ago. Maybe if I had a more ideal design (rather than a massive corner jacuzzi tub where the water gets cold by the time it’s filled), maybe I’d take more baths. This is one of my hopes as I plan my bathroom reno.
These are the styles that I gravitate toward, but I haven’t seen any of them in person (and prices are way out of budget for some of them, so I need to find other options). Since my bathroom is so square, and the shower will be rectangular, I’m thinking a curvy bathtub would be best.
For the past few several many years, I’ve had a bathroom reno on my mind. It’s a really terrible bathroom, and I’ve grown more tired of it over the last year because of, well, being home and using it more than ever before. I am still a little while away from pulling the reno trigger, but here are photos that are serving as inspiration.
I came across the work of Guelph-based artist Mallory Tolcher in this CBC article. In her Nothing But The Net work, she “explores the beauty of basketball.” The series features beautifully hand-crafted basketball nets using materials such as crystals, silk flowers, lace, and artificial pearls.
Aren’t they lovely? It’s hard to look at a regular ol’ basketball net after you’ve seen these, I think.
I’ve cooked more this year than I ever have in my life. Anyone else in the same boat?
Here are some recipes I’ve tried that worked out well (and that I’ve made multiple times).
- Broccoli potato cheddar soup
- Potato leek soup (so many times!)
- Sheet pan garlic herb butter chicken and potatoes
- Chicken provencal
- Roast chicken
- Chicken noodle soup
- Pasta alla vecchia bettola (a version of pasta alla vodka)
- Slow cooker pulled pork
- Tuna salad cucumber bites
- Berry angel food cake roll (my version)
- Falafel (from the Gourmet Cookbook)
- Raw Caramel Oatmeal Cookies (which my friend and I call protein balls)
- Blistered green beans
- Sugar cookies and royal icing (my Christmas cookies, my Valentine’s cookies)
- Crockpot pork roast (with chicken broth)
I’ll likely add to this as 2021 progresses. It’ll become a handy recipe reference guide (at least for me, but I hope for you, too!).
