I don’t have any need for new light fixtures at the moment, but a few unusual ones have caught my eye, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to share them with you.

Now that the bed of my dreams is perfectly in place (minus the mattress, of course), I’m on the hunt for a pair of suitable nightstands. My bed is French, so I might opt for something French provincial in style (but plain-ish) to go with it…or something else.
What I’m discovering so far in my search is that (a) I’m very particular (too short, too tall, too skinny, too fat, too traditional, too modern), (b) new nightstands can be super pricey, and (c) finding a pair of vintage nightstands seems practically impossible.
That said, here are some versions that caught my eye and that might go with my bed (but not necessarily my budget…and I’d likely have to repaint them, too).
24″ Maison closed nightstand, $895, Restoration Hardware
20″ Empire rosette closed nightstand, $795, Restoration Hardware
Louis XVI 24″ closed nightstand, $560 (on sale), Restoration Hardware
Louis XVI 24″ narrow open nightstand, $490 (on sale), Restoration Hardware (the Louis XVI collection is my fave…and it would go very well with my bed)
Bellina nightstand, $599, Restoration Hardware
Liane side table, $339, Restoration Hardware
lacquered regency nightstand, $698, Anthropologie (this would provide some interesting contrast, but it’s likely not the right style. i do find it interesting)
Grasse nightstand, $498, Anthropolgie (I like the curved stems, but it’s the wrong colour)
Robin 1 drawer night stand, $195, Wayfair
Horton bachelor’s chest, $395, Wayfair
Gallinas 1 drawer nightstand, $75, Wayfair
Weaver 1 drawer nightstand, $265, Wayfair
Stardust 2 drawer nightstand, $290, Wayfair
Notting Hill bachelor’s chest, $699, Wayfair
French provincial nightstands, $450, Kijiji
John Widdicomb nightstands, $1250, 1st Dibs
Bernhardt Audrey nightstand, $799, Horchow
Any other ideas as to where I might find an (affordable) set of nightstands?
This Valentine’s Day, I’m thinking hearts, hearts, and more hearts are the way to go. I’ve never been a major Valentine’s Day fan as I think love – and hearts – should be spread around generously throughout the year, so considering this, I think it’s as good a time as any to share some lovely items here (yes, even though we haven’t even yet entered February).
