The Friday Five: White Hot at Anthropologie

The Anthropologie catalogue arrived last week, and it got me drooling! The store is so full of goodness. While not everything suits my style, I do appreciate Anthro’s overall aesthetic. And the pieces that I have picked out in the past for my home and wardrobe have definitely become some of my favourite items.

These five pieces have caught my summer-loving attention.

The Friday Five: Fish Scales Design Trend

I think we’re going to see more fish scales in our design future. Here are five cases to demonstrate my thoughts:

Marketplace: Night Stands

Now that the bed of my dreams is perfectly in place (minus the mattress, of course), I’m on the hunt for a pair of suitable nightstands. My bed is French, so I might opt for something French provincial in style (but plain-ish) to go with it…or something else.

What I’m discovering so far in my search is that (a) I’m very particular (too short, too tall, too skinny, too fat, too traditional, too modern), (b) new nightstands can be super pricey, and (c) finding a pair of vintage nightstands seems practically impossible.

That said, here are some versions that caught my eye and that might go with my bed (but not necessarily my budget…and I’d likely have to repaint them, too).

The Friday Five: Back to Beds

I have not yet pulled the trigger on a new bed. I know, I know, it’s been months since I first posted about my bed dreams! I just cannot decide. I thought I wanted a foot board because the bed looks more complete to me, but now I’m not so sure. I fear this bed decision will never be made!

Christine featured this gorgeous bed from CB2 on her blog back in July, and I really really like it. Sleek, modern, fancy, simple…it’s awesome. But a canopy? Am I a four-poster-canopy-bed type of person?

Here’s a more traditional four-poster bed that is quite textured. I don’t think this bed is for me, but I do think it’s interesting.

Then I spotted this one, and I quite like it, too. It’s completely different from the black one above. This one is low and minimal.

My bed research keeps bringing me back to the feminine French rounded bed that I posted about earlier, and here’s the latest addition to my photo collection.

And still keeping with feminine curves, this bed from West Elm looks fancy. There are so many fabric options so customization is pretty easy.

And the research continues…
