Trivia Thursday: The Shirtdress

It’s highly likely that every woman has some version of a shirtdress in their closets right now. It’s an easy-to-wear dress for work and leisure, it’s flattering, and it’s available in a range of colours, fabrics, and patterns. The shirtdress is now a classic dress design that came to us in the 1950s from Christian Dior where the full skirt was paired with crinoline for a little extra pouf. The style – noted by collars and the shirt-style – was inspired by menswear at the time. Now, we see many clothing brands creating their own variations.

Fashion: Gingham Galore

Last Friday, I went out of my fashion comfort zone, and I pulled out an all-over gingham outfit. I already had these pieces in my wardrobe, but it was only recently that I considered putting them together.

I was definitely inspired by Blair Eadie at Atlantic-Pacific and all the co-ordinating outfits that are popping into stores.

The Friday Five: Scotch & Soda

Have you heard of the brand Scotch & Soda? I know that there’s at least one location in Toronto’s Eaton Centre, but beyond that, I don’t know where other stores are located. The few times I’ve been in, I’ve liked a lot of the merchandise, but it’s not a regular go-to shop for me. The other day, though, I was having a little online browse, and I came back to Scotch & Soda’s site. There are plenty of cute items currently in stock, but here are five white pieces that caught my attention.
