For the past couple of years, I’ve been documenting some of my outfits on Instagram using #WhiteCabanaStyle. People seem to enjoy them, and it’s been amusing for me to look back at my outfits to see what I like or don’t like about them. What is easily noticeable as you scroll through the hundreds of outfits is that, regardless of season, black and white are my go-to colour options. Are you really surprised?

When the weather turns chilly, I find it really easy to wear black. Every. Darn. Day. But looking at “winter white fashion” on Pinterest is so inspiring. I think I need to make an effort to add creamy whites to my wardrobe this winter.

If you’ve been hopping around the blogs this winter, then you’ve surely seen the hype over L.L.Bean’s signature Bean Boots. Heck, there’s even a Bootmobile that’s been on tour! On a recent browsing adventure, I realized how much I was drawn to L.L.Bean’s leather collection, and I thought the collection would start off some beautiful, wearable, and affordable outfits (all items from L.L. Outfit 1 was built around the leather crossbody. It’s a classic shape and works beautifully year-round.

Outfit 2 was inspired by Trask’s perforated slide. We’ve seen slides since the fall, and I think we’ll be seeing more of them this spring. These perforated versions are super sleek.

Outfit 3 was built from the bottom – up. It began with these handsewn leather loafers in a potentially surprising version – white.
